Chile Con Carne

Melt:
2 to 3 tablespoons bacon drippings or butter

Sauté in the fat/butter:
½ cup chopped onion
1 chopped clove garlic

Add:
I to 2 Ibs. ground beef
1 Tbsp Steak Seasoning
Stir and sauté the beef until well done.

Add:
14.5 oz can (1¼ cups) canned tomatoes
8 oz can tomato sauce
2 – 16oz Cans (3 – 4 cups) kidney beans – do not drain
¾ teaspoon or more salt
½ bay leaf
1/4 Cup Dry Red Wine (used to be I teaspoon sugar)
2 teaspoons to 2 tablespoons chili powder depending on your taste and the strength of the chili powder.
1 Tbsp Wash your sister sauce
1 Tbsp Cholula Sauce

Cover and cook slowly for about 1 hour
