A sweet dessert salad with diced apples, pineapple, and nuts in a creamy taffy-like sauce topped with Cool Whip.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 8 oz. crushed pineapple (drain reserve juice)
- 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 4c. diced apples (do not peel)
- 1 c. salted Spanish nuts with skins
- 8 oz Cool Whip
Instructions
- Mix flour and sugar.
- Beat egg and add to flour and sugar.
- Add pineapple juice and vinegar.
- Put in pan and cook on low. Stir until thick. Let cool. (Can be put in refrigerator).
- Mix apples, pineapple, and nuts.
- Pour cooled sauce over this mixture.
- Stir in Cool Whip.
- Sprinkle with additional nuts for color.
